Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

Collagen regeneration using the body's natural healing capabilities.

What is a PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
Treatment?

Our popular treatment, the Platelet Rich Plasma (or PRP) injection (aka the “vampire Facial”) is a scientifically-proven method that uses your body’s own natural regenerative properties to tighten, tone and repair your skin’s appearance and elasticity. We take a sample of your own blood plasma, rich in collagen-boosting platelets, which we re-inject into your skin, resulting in enhanced firmness and ability to produce new skin cells.

We recommend PRP treatment to those wishing to tighten up the skin on their face and neck especially. It is also commonly recommended for the stimulation of hair growth on the scalp and brow-regions.

Areas we can treat

Wrinkled, Dull or Dry Skin

Our skin is subjected to many harmful conditions that can impact its youthful appearance and strength over time. With the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dry skin, your face, neck and decolletage can look increasingly tired as the years pass. With a professional PRP Treatment, your cells in these areas are stimulated to actively produce the collagen, elastin and hormones that give young skin that natural radiance.

Premature Hair Loss and Thinning Hair

Males and Females who experience premature hair loss or hair thinning can benefit from PRP as well. It is a recognised treatment for stimulating hair follicles that have gone dormant, promoting hair regrowth and combating premature hair loss or thinning.

Scar Tissue

By adding PRP to areas affected by scar tissue, such as acne scars, new skin cells can grow through via the stimulation of increased collagen production. This works to diminish the appearance of scars, regenerating new skin to make scarring much less noticeable.

Dark Circles

Make dark under-eyes less noticeable by booking your PRP treatment. Because it promotes collagen growth, a PRP treatment will firm the skin around your eyes, and aid the regeneration and strength of blood vessels that pump away fluids that cause puffy eye bags.

How does PRP work?

When you undergo a Skin to Soul PRP treatment, your body is “tricked” into stimulating a platelet-mediated cellular repair pathway – regenerating the appearance of skin through the production of collagen and growth hormones, formation of new blood vessels and ultimately the reorganisation of skin cells and the tissue that they make up.

The small skin injections or micro-needling create a small opening or ‘wound’ that triggers inflammation, increasing the concentration platelets in the area. This leads to the healing of the injection site and surrounding tissue, which results in new, healthier skin cells being generated.

Why we recommend the treatment

We recommend the PRP treatment as it is scientifically proven. Studies have shown that PRP treatments lead to significant increases in skin firmness and elasticity with no other side effects or complications (source).

In our experience, client’s experience a reduction in fine lines, pigmentation, extra volume in their skin and a healthier looking complexion.

What to expect during the treatment

A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area first. We will arrange for you to come in a little earlier so that this cream has time for the anaesthetic effects to take effect.

Depending on the area to be treated, we will take a volume of blood just as you would if going to a blood test.

This sample is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the components of your blood apart so that we can utilise the Plasma and Platelets.

This sample is then infused via micro-needling all over the face and injected directly into areas of concern where it can stimulate collagen production and the natural repair process

Post Treatment Downtime

Post treatment downtime is typically 24 to 48 hours to allow for any redness, swelling and tenderness to subside. These responses are normal and resolve quickly and spontaneously. Bruising at the site is also common and clears completely in 1 to 10 days. After the initial 24 to 48 hours post treatment, it is usually fine to resume all normal activities. Any bruising at this point can be concealed with a natural mineral makeup.

If you have any concerns or questions about the treatment or post-care instructions, please contact us for more information.
