Thread Lift Gold Coast - PDO and COG Expert

Achieve a youthful lift and rejuvenated appearance.

Restore a more youthful appearance with thread lifts - Gold Coast

Here at Skin to Soul, we use two kinds of threads for our thread lifts here on the Gold Coast. We use MINT thread lifts, two types of non-surgical facelift treatments that have gained popularity and trust in our field.

The thread lift involves using tiny threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) material to lift and tighten sagging skin on the face and neck. The threads are inserted under the skin using a small needle and gently pulled to create a lifting effect. Over time, the threads dissolve naturally and stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.

MINT (Minimal Invasive Nonsurgical Thread) lift is another type of thread that uses dissolvable threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) material. The threads are inserted under the skin using a small needle and then pulled to lift and tighten the skin. MINT thread lift is known for producing natural-looking results and has a shorter recovery time compared to other types of facelift procedures.

A thread lift is a “walk in, walk out” non-surgical procedure, and the downtime is minimal. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising and puckering in the treated area. They typically take about an hour to complete, and the results can last up to 18 months. All of these are transient and will subside within days. Whilst results from the lift are apparent immediately post-treatment, the results continue to develop for the next 6-8 weeks. Book your free consultation for a thread lift on the Gold Coast today.

An eyebrow thread lift is a cosmetic procedure that uses threads to lift and reshape the eyebrows. This procedure can provide several benefits, including:

  • Improved appearance: By lifting and reshaping the eyebrows, our Gold Coast thread lifts can help to enhance your overall facial appearance and make you look younger and more refreshed.
  • Non-invasive: Unlike surgical procedures, a thread lift is a non-invasive procedure that does not require incisions or general anesthesia. This means that there is less risk involved and a quicker recovery time.
  • Minimal downtime: After a thread lift, most people can resume their normal activities right away. There may be some minor swelling or bruising, but this usually subsides within a few days.
  • Long-lasting results: While the results of a thread lift are not permanent, they can last for up to 18 months. This makes it a good option for people who want to improve their appearance without committing to more invasive or long-term procedures.

Thread Lift Gold Coast & PDO Threads FAQs

Cog Thread Lift Treatment Areas

Forehead and Eyebrow Region

Forehead tissue can be lifted and contoured to raise the brow region, widening the gap between the eye and the brows. This can improve the appearance of hooded eyes and can be modified to give patients the ‘fox eye’ look if desired.

Jowls & Jawline

Cogs can be used to lift and tighten the skin that hangs around the jawline causing jowls and creases around the mouth and cheek. This has the additional effect of reducing the appearance of any deep lines formed in these areas.

Cheeks

When utilised around the cheek area, they can contour the cheekbone giving the face a more defined look. A thread lift in the cheek area can improve smile lines and wrinkles around the mouth area too.

Neck

Cog threads offer a non-surgical way to help eliminate gravitational age-related concerns for under the neck such as sagging neck skin and an undefined jawline.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

PDO Cog threads are very popular with both male and female patients. If you’re in search of a treatment that can gently and effectively improve the appearance of your skin, we recommend Cog thread lifts. They can also be used in conjunction with mono threads to address selected facial areas.

  • Long lasting results
  • Immediate effects are visible
  • Quick treatment time – approximately 1 hour
  • Minimally invasive compared to surgical methods and are be administered under local anaesthetic
  • Continued improvements even after threads have dissolved as they stimulate collagen production.
  • Low risk with minimal down-time. Recovery is typically between 2-7 days

What to expect when booking in for your Cog Thread Lift?

Pre-treatment

At your consultation, the nurse will assess your suitability for a Cog Thread Lift. You will discuss your medical history and what your areas of concern are that you would like treated. Your nurse will want to be sure that a PDO Cog Thread Lift is the right choice for you. There are also other important considerations when considering a Cog Thread Lift such as planning the timing of the treatment to allow adequate space in your work and social calendar to accommodate the downtime associated with the treatment and some pre-care instructions to ensure the treatment runs smoothly.

During Treatment

Cog PDO threads are a treatment that is performed with the use of some local anaesthetic as the threads are placed deeper than mono PDO threads, where only topical numbing cream is normally used. This means most patients experience minimal discomfort or pain.

The nurse will insert the threads using a cannula and some light massaging to ensure the threads have engaged in the target areas. Once the threads are placed correctly, they are then pulled tight to create the desired mechanical lift and secured.

Post Treatment

Some slight swelling, bruising and pain post-procedure is normal as the area around the threads heals. Swelling and bruising typically resolves in 2 to 3 days. Some bruising, tenderness or soreness will persist for approximately one week. There are some specific post-care instructions that the Nurse will provide you to help speed the recovery and maximise the results from the procedure. If there are any questions about what you can or can’t do in the days following treatment, get in contact with us for more information.

How are Cogs different from PDO threads?

PDO (polydioxanone) Cog threads are thicker than mono threads and feature fine barbs that hook into the muscle providing lift and support for sagging tissue. This process allows them to have an increased level of function and results when compared to their mono variants.

Cog PDO Threads differ from Mono (smooth) PDO threads because they provide a mechanical lift but as it naturally dissolves, collagen production is promoted in the area, thus encouraging the body’s natural skin tightening mechanics to take action.

Why we recommend the treatment?

PDO Cog threads are very popular with both male and female patients. If you’re in search of a treatment that can gently and effectively improve the appearance of your skin, we recommend Cog thread lifts. They can also be used in conjunction with mono threads to address selected facial areas.

  • Long lasting results

Why we recommend Mono PDO Threads?

Mono PDO threads work for all age groups and are popular with both men and women. If you are looking for a low-impact, gentle technique to improve the appearance of your skin – or you’re worried about premature skin aging, we recommend you consider Mono PDO threads, which offer the following benefits:

  • Increases Collagen production without surgery
  • Minimally invasive
  • Skin lifting/tightening
  • Skin thickening
  • Improve skin texture and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

Who should get Mono PDO Threads?

Mono PDO threads are suitable for most patients. This treatment can either be used as a preventative and enhancing treatment in younger patients to prevent sagging or enhance naturally occurring volume or for patients who are experiencing uneven skin tone, moderate sagging or a loss of volume under the skin.

What to expect during Mono PDO Threads treatment?

After a skin consultation numbing cream is applied which takes 40 minutes for full effect. While this is processing a relaxation massage that focuses on the head, neck and scalp helps to release stress and tension creating a sense of peace and well-being. As an option a shamanic energy clearing is offered which can help to unblock trapped emotions in different areas of the body.

Fine needles containing threads are inserted into the skin. The fine needles are then removed leaving the fine thread underneath the skin. The mono threads stimulate an increase in collagen production which takes approximately 12 weeks to occur.

What areas can be treated with PDO Mono Threads?

Cheeks – Accordion Lines – Peri Oral – Marionettes – Nasolabials – Jawline – Neck

How Mono PDO Threads Work?

  • Thread sliding under the skin via a needle
  • Skin begins to tighten and naturally regenerate the production of collagen + elastin
  • Continuous collagen stimulation with the breakdown of the thread
  • Rejuvenated and smoother skin up to 12 months.
