Dermal Fillers

Rejuvenate and enhance your facial features by adding symmetry,
structure in addition to volume for natural looking and feeling results.

About Dermal Fillers

As we age, a loss of volume to our facial features is one of the biggest contributing factors to the appearance of wrinkles and sunken areas. Dermal fillers can shape and contour these areas of concern by targeting your skin’s underlying tissue and structures, thereby rejuvenating your appearance and creating a younger, healthier-looking facial structure.

Benefits of
Dermal Fillers

Structural Transformation

Ascension practitioners use a wide range of filler types and weights from firm filler that can perform like bone or cartilage to soft filler that functions like skin tissue.

Non-invasive facial augmentation using filler can be an incredibly effective alternative to surgical measures such as cheekbone implants, jaw and chin implants and rhinoplasty, with results lasting up to 18 months.

Rejuvenation

Soft filler is commonly used to smooth areas such as tear troughs, nasal labial folds, forehead and the temples, to create a rejuvenated appearance. Enhancing the structure of the cheekbones, jawline and chin using firm filler can also tighten the skin and prevent areas such as the lines around the mouth from increasing over time.

How do dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers restore volume, shape and lift to your facial features by providing a support structure to your skin tissues and their underlying structures. This same treatment can be used as an enhancing agent to increase already existing volume to lips and cheekbones to increase their prominence.

As we age, the body produces less collagen and elastin to maintain the youthful structure of the face. Dermal fillers are made from a polysaccharide (a type of natural sugar) that aids in the hydration and volumisation of your targeted areas.

Why do we recommend dermal fillers?

The great thing about dermal fillers is that they have so many uses and their lasting effects are enjoyed by both men and women alike. If you are searching for a minimally invasive, subtle improvement to your skin’s appearance, then we recommend the use of dermal fillers as they have the following benefits:

Instant Results

Dermal Fillers add immediate volume to wrinkled or sunken areas. As they spread out between the tissues of your targeted areas, the full effect is noticeable within a couple of days

Enjoy facial symmetry

Fillers can be used to target areas of the face that are eye-catching due to their lack of symmetry. We can tailor their use to enhance and reshape your natural facial features.

Volumise wrinkles and sunken areas of the face

Fillers can be used to emulate the effects of natural collagen levels in the skin. They are made with a natural sugar-like substance to safely restore and enhance targeted areas of your face

Lasting effects

While the effects of dermal fillers typically last for 6-18 months, this is dependent on how fast your body metabolises them (based on factors such as age, treatment area and the thickness of the filler applied).

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Dermal fillers are suitable for the majority of patients. We can use them both as a preventative treatment and an enhancing treatment. Results can vary based upon preference and purpose from subtle to dramatic.

Younger patients may choose to utilise fillers to prevent the setting in of deep lines and wrinkles, whereas older patients may be looking for a solution to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines that have already formed. Fillers can be used to enhance the shape of cheekbones and lips too for those looking to add volume and additional structure to their facial features.

What to expect when booking in for your dermal fillers

At your consultation, the nurse will assess your suitability for dermal fillers. You’ll discuss your previous health history and what you’re trying to achieve. Your nurse will want to be sure that dermal fillers are the right choice for you.

During Treatment

Your face will be mapped out. Treatment areas will be identified before proceeding with a series of small injections to either enhance or improve volume in those areas. The procedure is often described by patients as relatively pain-free with any discomfort subsiding immediately at the end of the treatment process.

Post Treatment

You may experience temporary redness or swelling at the injection site, however, this usually subsides within 24-hours of your treatment. Typically, immediate results are noticeable, however, the full effect of the fillers takes around two weeks to see. If there was any bruising, this can take about 2-3 weeks to subside.
